How do I begin? We dealt briefly with Majio when we made an inquiry about cross-border tax. He mentioned that he'd have time to do it over the email. However, I made a phone call to him a week later to confirm a few things before we take our documents to him for tax filing, at which point he somehow changed his mind and told us that he did not have time to do it due to the busy tax filing season. The tone was highly unprofessional and frankly it just emphasized the stereotype I had on some of these personal tax accountants. It turned out well in the end because I just decided take a few hours on a weekend and did it myself. Cost me $50 with a tax software vs. hundreds of dollars I got quoted because it would apparently take him "weeks" to do it. What a complete joke. Honestly, it's a lesson learned here for me and those who rely of these accountants. Try exploring the tax software because unless you are an individual with sophisticated tax profile, then most of these tax software can take care of your situation. I expect most of these personal tax accountants to be basically obsolete eventually and the only ones left would be the ones providing these services for ultra HNW individuals.
